He Will Lift You Up

I hear the thud.

It interrupted the silence of this quiet morn.

I saw a bird flitting around. I just knew she was hurt. I went to her; wanting to help. As I got closer I could see it wasn’t just one bird, it was two. I was so shocked. They were fighting. These two little precious songbirds were going at it. This should not be. I wanted to shout to them:

Break it up. You are sisters. You need each other. Love one another.

There’s room in that nest for both of you.

I got to thinking we girls can be like this sometimes.

We peck at each other. Scrap and scrape to make our way to the top. To be lifted up.

God’s way is so much different.

James 4:10 Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and He will lift you up.

The world is against us. We need to stand together.

Matthew 12:25 But Jesus knew their thoughts, and said to them: “Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation, and every city or house divided against itself will not stand.

God needs more laborers. Not less.

Luke 10:2 Then He said to them, “The harvest truly is great, but the laborers are few; therefore pray the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest.
Pray for the Lord to send more. There is room for all of us.

We’re not in competition with one another.

Aren’t we sisters?

And should we notice a sister doing something that is not pleasing to the Lord, immediately lift her up to Jesus. Pray for her. Don’t talk to others about her. Talk to Jesus.

Let’s lift each other up.

We need each other.

Romans 12:10 Be kindly affectionate to one another with brotherly love, in honor giving preference to one another.

Let’s outdo one another in showing honor!

Proverbs 18:21 Life and death are in the power of the tongue.

When we see another sister do something well, let’s celebrate with her. Applaud her. Compliment her. Cheer her on.
