“I got that.”

I was too exhausted to move.
Standing before me was a weight I couldn’t lift.
I knew it too.
“Do you need some help with that?”

I turned towards the voice. It was a kind older gentleman.
He saw the mountain of mulch before me. I needed four more bags. The big bags. The bags that weigh 50 lbs. each.
I was working in the garden all the day. The sun was brutal. All I wanted to do was get this over with.

I feigned a smile, “No thank you. I appreciate your offer though.”

Off he went.

There I stood. Immobile. Why didn’t I take his help? I gave it all I had. Struggling and straining, I managed to get these bags in the cart. I made my way to the car. Opening the trunk, there I stood staring at the bags. There was no way I had the strength to get these bags into my car.

I can’t even…

Out of nowhere came that man.

“I got that.”

He breezed past me, effortlessly lifting the bags.

Tears welled up.

Barely able to utter a heartfelt thanks, I got in the car.

I knew the Lord was whispering a message to my heart. I’d been trying to lift some very heavy things. He wanted to help; if I’d let Him.

How about you? Got some big stuff to carry?

Hear Him:

“I got that.”

Isaiah 41:13 “For I, the LORD your God, will hold your right hand, saying to you, ‘Fear not, I will help you.’”
