Strong Hand

dad holding hand

Psalm 121:2 My help comes from the LORD, who made heaven and earth.

My help isn’t some vague distant “maybe” that might show up, but a definite reliable Person. A big strong Dad who won’t let his daughter go out of His sight for even a moment. He is fighting on my behalf, leading me in the best direction and giving me His wisdom to make difficult decisions. He will give me the strength to follow through and squeeze my hand tighter when I’m afraid. He made heaven and earth. He holds them in the palm of His hand. I think He can handle what comes my way today. We can do anything together!

I Can Still Trust God

hab 3

It was so cloudy this morning. I couldn’t see very far ahead. My usual path was hidden underneath the dense fog. I was reminded that when I can’t see what lies ahead, my God does. When there are a lot of unknowns I can still trust my God. I know what this looks like. Everything around you contradicts what you were told. Trust God. Suddenly and in an instant, life can change.

Habakkuk 3:17 Though the fig tree not blossom nor fruit be on the vines; though the labor of the olive may fail and the fields yield no food; though the flock may be cut off from the fold and there be no herd in the stalls; Yet I will rejoice in the Lord. I will joy in the God of my salvation. The Lord God is my strength.

Break Through

cedar of lebanon

Psalm 29:4 The voice of the LORD is powerful; The voice of the LORD is full of majesty. The voice of the LORD breaks the cedars, yes, the LORD splinters the cedars of Lebanon.

The Cedars of Lebanon grow in the mountains of Israel, Syria, and Jordan. The trunks of these trees reach 8 feet in diameter and they can grow 130 feet tall. These trees are massive forces to be reckoned with. Often our trials can seem like these trunks; impossible to break through.

As big as this trunk is, God’s voice is bigger still.

This verse shouts out the awesome power of the voice of God. His voice alone can splinter this tree.

There are obstacles that we are facing that seem impenetrable. They stand as stout as this tree. They are a domineering force, but God is able to break them as if they were little toothpicks.

His voice can pierce the hardest heart. It can penetrate even the most boisterous noise of the world. He can bring silence to the taunting voice of fears that attack us without warning. His voice alone can birth new life. It has more influence than all the competing voices of the world. While the enemy hovers as an imposing force and we are overcome with worries, His voice interjects to bring a new found confidence. One Word from the Living God infuses us with strength we never knew we had. Some of us have family that we’ve been trying to reach for years; unsuccessfully. No matter how far away they are, God can reach them. Distance is nothing for our God. He can reach where we cannot.

No heart, financial hardship, disability, broken relationship is beyond the voice of God.

Jeremiah 32:17 “O Sovereign LORD! You made the heavens and earth by your strong hand and powerful arm. Nothing is too hard for you!”
