Savior. Rescuer. Healer

The boy wanted to know what it was like to be wrapped in swaddling clothes.

And I imagine.

God sent His only son. His baby. The love of His life. He sent Him to this wretched earth to be the Lamb of God who would willingly give His life for me. And you.

Back in the day, in that region, these swaddling clothes were used to wrap the newborn baby lambs to protect them. To keep them spotless and unblemished. These lambs were to be sacrificed in the Temple. They had to be perfect.

A perfect picture of Jesus. The perfect spotless lamb who came to die for our sin.

Matthew 1:21 “And she will bring forth a Son, and you shall call His name JESUS, for He will save His people from their sins.”

Jesus means Savior. Rescuer. Healer.

I needed rescuing. He was there for me. Waiting.

All I had to do was ask Him for forgiveness. Could it be that simple?

It was. It still is.

There is nothing He will not forgive us for. Nothing. His blood covered it all on the cross. His resurrection from the grave will empower you to leave your sinful life behind and follow Him. Equally so, He can give you the grace to forgive someone who has hurt you.

Come and lay it down. Worship this gift of Jesus.

Come let us adore Him, Christ the Lord.

Merry Christmas my sweet friends!

AMEN!!!

It’s a scene straight from heaven.

A vast crowd standing before the throne.

Revelation 7:10-12 …crying out with a loud voice, saying, “Salvation belongs to our God who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb!” All the angels stood around the throne and the elders and the four living creatures, and fell on their faces before the throne and worshiped God, saying: “Amen! Blessing and glory and wisdom, thanksgiving and honor and power and might, be to our God forever and ever. Amen.”

In its original language, this word “Amen” is almost identical to the word “faithful.” It was an expression of absolute trust and confidence.

God provides…always

Camden woke up, “I’m so thirsty…” He was languishing when he looked up and pointed to a bottle of water on the nightstand. It had been there for weeks. Had he not seen it until now?

He exclaimed, “Look, God provided!”

He didn’t have to go far to find what he needed. He didn’t even have to go downstairs.

There it was.

Do you have a need?

Does it look impossible?

Are you out of options?

Abraham was.

In fact, God asked something really hard from him. He had no idea how this whole thing might turn out. He just kept walking it out. At the right time, not moment too soon and not a moment to late, God provided.

Genesis 22:13 Then Abraham lifted his eyes and looked, and there behind him was a ram caught in a thicket…

Was it already there? Or did God bring it at that moment and place it there; unbeknownst to Abraham? Either way, we know this:

God provided.

He always provides what we need. At the moment, we may be out of options. Don’t panic.

We walk by faith, not by sight.

God always has a ram in the thicket.
