She stayed still…

She was terrified.
Trembling, she stood still; not knowing what to do.
I’ll tell you what she didn’t do: she didn’t run off.
Let me explain.

The first time I saw her she was out in my front yard hidden in a hole and covered over by straw. Surrounded by her siblings, she was safe and sound. Her mamma was nearby.

But then the gardener came through.

He mowed everything to bits.

Life as she knew it ended.

It was all over in a matter of moments.

This little girl didn’t run off. She stayed put.

We can learn a lot from her.

When in doubt don’t.

In the midst of chaos is no time to make a decision.

Jeremiah 17:7 “But blessed are those who trust in the LORD and have made the LORD their hope and confidence.”

We can’t listen to our feelings, they can deceive us.

Be still.

Friends want to help, but they can get it wrong.

Be still.

God often speaks in a whisper. You don’t want to miss it.

Psalm 37:7 Be still in the presence of the LORD, and wait patiently for him to act. Don’t worry about evil people who prosper or fret about their wicked schemes.
