He Will Lift You Up


I hear the thud.

It interrupted the silence of this quiet morn.

I saw a bird flitting around. I just knew she was hurt. I went to her; wanting to help. As I got closer I could see it wasn’t just one bird, it was two. I was so shocked. They were fighting. These two little precious songbirds were going at it. This should not be. I wanted to shout to them:

Break it up. You are sisters. You need each other. Love one another. 

There’s room in that nest for both of you.

I got to thinking we girls can be like this sometimes. 

We peck at each other. Scrap and scrape to make our way to the top. To be lifted up.

God’s way is so much different.

James 4:10 Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and He will lift you up.

The world is against us. We need to stand together. 

Matthew 12:25 But Jesus knew their thoughts, and said to them: “Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation, and every city or house divided against itself will not stand.

God needs more laborers. Not less. 

Luke 10:2 Then He said to them, “The harvest truly is great, but the laborers are few; therefore pray the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest.
Pray for the Lord to send more. There is room for all of us.

We’re not in competition with one another. 

Aren’t we sisters?

And should we notice a sister doing something that is not pleasing to the Lord, immediately lift her up to Jesus. Pray for her. Don’t talk to others about her. Talk to Jesus. 

Let’s lift each other up. 

We need each other. 

Romans 12:10 Be kindly affectionate to one another with brotherly love, in honor giving preference to one another.

Let’s outdo one another in showing honor!

Proverbs 18:21 Life and death are in the power of the tongue.

When we see another sister do something well, let’s celebrate with her. Applaud her. Compliment her. Cheer her on.

Stay On Guard!


There he was slithering up the brick. Trying to find an opening. 

It only takes a small space. A little hole and he’ll be in. 

Wreaking all kinds of havoc.

This is the way Satan works in our lives.

It only takes one unguarded moment. One thought. And he’s in.

He is so subtle. 

His tactics haven’t changed since the beginning.

Genesis 3:1…He said to the woman, “Did God actually say…”

He causes us to question God’s word. His promises. His goodness. His protection.

Gideon questioned.

Why has all this happened to us? Where are all the miracles?

Judges 6:14 Then the LORD turned to him and said, “Go with the strength you have, and rescue Israel from the Midianites. I am sending you!”

All the stripping away in Gideon’s life was preparation for his call.

How did he answer that call upon his life?

Judges 6:15 “But Lord,” Gideon replied, “how can I rescue Israel? My clan is the weakest in the whole tribe of Manasseh, and I am the least in my entire family!”

You can hear his insecurities. His fears. And feelings of being unworthy. 

Where do these thoughts come from? 

The snake. The Father of Lies. He is a liar and there is no truth in him.

2 Timothy 1:7 For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.

When we find ourselves questioning our abilities, God’s provision, anxious over insecurities, making comparisons, and bringing up the past, please know the snake has subtly crept in. 

God has work for us to do. A job for each of us. We can’t persevere until we get rid of these thoughts.

Judges 6:16 The LORD said to him, “I will be with you. And you will destroy the Midianites as if you were fighting against one man.”

Renew your mind with truth. 

Keep your thoughts guarded. Make no provisions for the snake to enter.

Hear what Jesus wants to say:

I am not going to leave you. I will always be with you. Come what may, your life is in my hands. Tear down everything you’re trusting in. Trust in me. I will finish what I started. You can do this!

She Bear


Do you hear the mocking voice of the enemy?


You’re not loved. You’ll never do this. You’re ugly. You’re fat. You can’t do that. You’ll never overcome that. It’s too big. Why are you wasting your time? Worthless. Stay in bed. Why try? How you gonna pay for that? He’s gonna fail you…


And on and on. And on.


Elisha heard some mocking voices. 


They were calling him names. Taunting him. Laughing. Scoffing. Making fun. 


2 Kings 2:24 And he turned back, and looked on them, and cursed them in the name of the LORD. And there came forth two she bears out of the wood, and tare forty and two children of them.


I’m gonna challenge you:


Bring out the she bear in you! 


Rise up with all your strength. Fight with all you got. Silence these voices.


Hear the truth of God’s word:

You are loved with an everlasting love. Jesus died for you. Not so that you could live a depressed anxious worried life, but to thrive. To be alive. Have joy. You are beautiful. A precious daughter of the King. Our Lord does not look at your outward appearance. He sees the heart. Your heart that beats for Him. Shines for Him. Wants to please Him. You will overcome. Because He overcame. He overcame death. That same power that rose Jesus Christ from the dead resides in you. Nothing you do for Him is ever a waste. It is precious to Him. He sees it all. Nothing goes unnoticed by Him. He who sees in secret will reward you openly. You are valuable. Your life is precious to Him. No matter what season you find yourself in, He has purpose for you. Jesus will always provide for you. You’ll always have enough. Because He is enough to sustain you. He will never let you go. 

Jesus never fails. 

Now rouse yourself up.

Work double time.

The Lord has need of you.
