On the Road

Genesis 16:7 Now the Angel of the LORD found her [Hagar] by a spring of water in the wilderness…
Her circumstances had her on the run.
Let me share a secret: You can’t outrun God.
Trust me, I’ve tried.
Everything was going wrong in her life. She had every reason to be angry. And overwhelmed, depressed and fearful.
God met her there.
He will meet you where you’re at.
This situation you’re in is not a happen chance mistake. God allowed it. It’s here in these desperate situations the Lord comes to meet you.
He will become to you what you need.
Do you need joy?
Psalm 16:11 You will show me the path of life; In Your presence is fullness of joy; At Your right hand are pleasures forevermore.
Do you need hope?
Lamentations 3:22-24 Through the LORD’s mercies we are not consumed, because His compassions fail not. They are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness. “The LORD is my portion,” says my soul, “Therefore I hope in Him!”
Do you need security?
The Lord is your rock and your fortress.
Psalm 78:16 He also brought streams out of the rock, and caused waters to run down like rivers.
Running on empty? You will have enough because He is enough. All sufficient.
Allow Him to whisper this into your heart:
I love you. You are wanted.
I’m not going anywhere.
I know you can’t see the end of the road.
That’s okay. I see the end from the beginning.
Revelation 21:6 And He said to me, “It is done! I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. I will give of the fountain of the water of life freely to him who thirsts.”
Wherever this road leads, I’ll be on it with you.
Circumstances are irrelevant.

Princess, Claim Your Crown…

This crown.

I gaze to remember.

It is a visible reminder of my value.

Things come into my life and make me forget.

I forget. A lot.

I am not defined by the breakup of my relationship with some guy. My first boyfriend cheated on me. That left me so insecure about who I was.

My value doesn’t lie in the hands of my earthly father. He abandoned me. Rejected me. He did not want me. He still wants nothing to do with me.

Whether my jeans are a size 10 or a size 20, my worth doesn’t change.

If I have 10 likes or 100 to this post, does not matter in the least.

If my sons ace the SAT or can’t add two plus two, my value doesn’t lie in their performance.

Nor does it lie in my performance. I don’t have to be anybody in the eyes of the world. I don’t have to earn love.

I have a heavenly Father who loves me.

He loves me unconditionally. Just. As. I. Am.

His love never changes. It just keeps coming.

Boyfriends come and go. Jean sizes fluctuate. FB friends are fleeting.

When you can fully grasp how much you are loved, you can fully live.

Until then, you have a very unhappy existence. Always seeking love and approval from the wrong place. Seeking love and approval from anywhere but your Heavenly Daddy will let you down. The world will disappoint you every time.

You are the daughter of the King of Kings and Lord of Lords.

That makes you a Princess.

Claim your crown.

You are loved. So loved.

Surrender your life to the only One who will never fail you. Never leave you. Never stop loving you.

Ephesians 3:18 And may you have the power to understand, as all God’s people should, how wide, how long, how high, and how deep his love is.

Still there…

I rushed out the door. Threw everything in the front seat and sped off. Barreling down the highway I realized I missed my exit. I would need to go back. I took the next exit. At the stoplight, a woman was pointing and making gestures. I put the window down. She told me I left a book on the back of my car. I didn’t want to get out of my car at this intersection. I got back on the highway. When I arrived at my destination, there it was.

It was my Bible.

Still there.

It was a reminder for me.

Psalm 139:7 Where can I go from Your Spirit? Or where can I flee from Your presence? 8 If I ascend into heaven, You are there; If I make my bed in hell, behold, You are there.

No matter what I’m going through, God is with me.

Psalm 139:1 O LORD, You have searched me and known me.

You have searched. The Hebrew word “chaqar.” It gives the idea of digging deep into the earth.  God knows the deep things of our heart. He sees. He sees beyond the surface. Behind the smiling face. He sees what no-one else sees. He knows the longings of our heart. Sometimes our longings take us off the right path He has for us.

Sometimes we just need to be reminded.

God is with you. He hasn’t forgotten you. Nor has He left you. Even if you can’t see Him working in your life, He is. Especially when things aren’t going the way you planned.

He is there. Take His hand and walk with Him. He will lead you on your way. His way.

That’s the best way.
