Small things

Mark 16:1,3 Now when the Sabbath was past, Mary Magdalene, Mary [the mother] of James, and Salome bought spices, that they might come and anoint Him… And they said among themselves, “Who will roll away the stone from the door of the tomb for us?” There was this small thing they wanted to do for Jesus. Many would’ve considered it a waste. They wanted to do this for Him, but there was an obstacle. A large stone was covering the tomb. Not a small stone; a large one. It didn’t stop them. They kept going forward. They were too weak to roll this stone away. There was no way they could do it. It didn’t stop them.  And God was one step ahead of them.  When they arrived to the tomb to do what God put on their heart, the stone was rolled away. God can do the same for us.  Whatever God has called you to do, go for it. Let not the voice of the enemy be louder. There is nothing our God cannot do. It doesn’t matter how extensive the need. The external appearance of the situation is irrelevant.  Our age has no bearing. We think we’re too old. Caleb was 85 years old when he spoke this:   [Jos 14:12 NKJV] 12 “Now therefore, give me this mountain of which the LORD spoke in that day; for you heard in that day how the Anakim [giants] were there, and that the cities were great and fortified. It may be that the LORD will with me, and I shall be able to drive them out as the LORD said.” Or we may suppose we’re too young. 1 Timothy 4:12 Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith and in purity. Do you homeschool? Have a child with special needs?  I have a whole lot of pencils, not a lot of strength. And I have a bunch of notebooks, but not too much education.  2 Corinthians 9:8 And God is able to make all grace abound toward you, that you, always having all sufficiency in all things, may have an abundance for every good work. They went to the tomb to do something very small for the Lord. Trivial in the eyes of the world. A big deal to them nonetheless. In doing this small thing, they saw a miracle.  The stone was rolled away.  Jesus Christ had risen from the dead! May the Lord surprise you today as you step out to do His will.
